Redwood Grove is a great introduction to tuned percussion playing for beginner ensembles. It features a catchy tune along with groovy drum parts that play an integral role in the piece with solo features throughout. I wrote Redwood Grove for a young percussion ensemble I directed as their very first marimba piece. They had a great time playing it and I hope you do too!
