Tetsujin is inspired by the amazing style and power of Japanese taiko drumming. We wrote this piece as an introduction to this highly stylised way of playing, and it features some typical taiko rhythms, challenging syncopation, and plenty of chances for the ensemble to practise their choreography and movement.
Composers: Catherine Betts and Joshua Webster
The piece can be performed on any type of drum. Tom toms are recommended, however it can also be played on congas, bongos, timbales or any other similar drums you have access to.
