Aidan Ritchie

Aidan Ritchie is a Melbourne based percussionist and drummer who graduated from The Melbourne Conservatorium of Music in 2023.

Aidan started his musical career on drum kit, starting lessons at five years old. At thirteen, he turned his focus towards orchestral percussion. As a result, his playing style is very much inspired by both the physicality and groove of drum kit and the precision of orchestral percussion.

Aidan has experience with a wide range of ensembles, including performing in a series of chamber and larger groups of all varieties. Whilst studying his Bachelor of Music, he had the opportunity to tour around Australia, China, Singapore, and Malaysia. In 2023, Aidan was awarded First Place in the MSO Snare Drum Award, with prizes including a year-long mentorship with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. Aidan joined the Kaboom Percussion team in 2024 and is excited to share his love for music with kids across the country.
