Catherine Betts

Founder & Performer WA/TAS/NZ

Kaboom Percussion Co-Founder Catherine Betts holds a Bachelor of Music (1st Class Honours) and a Master of Music degree, both from the University of Western Australia.
In 2008 she was awarded the Lady Callaway Medal for Music for being the most outstanding student in a Bachelor of Music degree. Catherine also received an Australian Postgraduate Award to complete her Master’s degree from 2009 – 2010.

She has toured throughout Europe, China, Canada, the USA and India with the Australian Youth Orchestra and Tetrafide Percussion and is also a casual musician with the West Australian Philharmonic Orchestra, West Australian Symphony Orchestra and Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra.

Since founding Kaboom Percussion in 2014, Catherine has performed hundreds of shows across Australia and New Zealand as well as presenting workshops at a number of music education conferences including the 2018 International Society for Music Education Conference in Azerbaijan and the 2019 Teaching Artists Conference Italy.
