
Joshua Webster
Founder & Performer WA/TAS/NZ
Kaboom Percussion Co-Founder Joshua Webster holds a Bachelor of Music (1st Class Honours) and Master of Music from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts. At WAAPA, Joshua studied with Tim White and Paul Tanner and in 2008 he was awarded the Winstanley Prize for the most outstanding graduating classical music student.
Based in Perth, Joshua works as a musician, composer, arranger and teacher. Since 2009, he has studied the Hungarian cimbalom over numerous trips to Hungary and the Netherlands with leading performers Jenő Lisztes, Giani Lincan, Miklós Lukács, Kálmán Balogh, Jenő Sörös, Sándor Kuti, and Viktória Herencsár.
Since founding Kaboom Percussion in 2014, Joshua has performed more than a thousand shows across Australia and New Zealand as well as presenting workshops at music education conferences all around Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Azerbaijan, Italy, and in the US.
In addition to Kaboom, he has worked with Tetrafide Percussion, the West Australian Symphony Orchestra, the Perth Symphony Orchestra, the WA Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra. He has performed across Australia, China, India, the US, Canada, Italy, Azerbaijan, Hungary and New Zealand, and even played for The Queen!
