Quinn Ramsey

Performer QLD/NSW/ACT

Quinn Ramsey is a Brisbane based percussionist and drummer who completed his Bachelor of Music at the Queensland Conservatorium in 2023.

Throughout his time at university, Quinn was lucky to receive tutelage from internationally recognised percussionists Nozomi Omote, Rebecca Lloyd-Jones, Tom O’Kelly and drummers John Parker and Paul Hudson. During this time, Quinn's involvement in the Queensland music scene has led him to be the recipient of bursaries from the Australian Decorative and Fine Arts Society. In his final year of study, Quinn was a successful applicant in the Queensland Conservatorium Concerto Competition and was selected to perform a full double percussion concerto with the Conservatorium Symphony Orchestra.

Quinn's training has led him to play with groups such as Southern Cross Soloists where he has played alongside John Jorgenson and James Morrison in the Queensland Performing Arts Centre. Additionally, Quinn has played percussion in Ensemble Q, backed Australian Artist Genesis Owusu in the Brisbane Symphony Orchestra and played with renowned jazz trio Trichotomy. Quinn can also be found in local music venues drumming with a variety of bands. As an educator, Quinn is now passing on his passion for music through teaching at Just Percussion and Genesis Christian College.
